The Joffrey Ballet is a Chicago-based ballet company and dance education organization committed to artistic excellence. I re-developed their identity system focusing on their contemporary style, and dynamic yet balanced look.
Background
1956
“America’s Company of Firsts”
Robert Joffrey and Gerald Arpino formed a six-dancer ensemble that toured the country. The Joffrey Ballet was the first dance company to perform at the White House at Jacqueline Kennedy’s invitation and the first to appear on American television.
1995
“Chicago’s Resident Ballet Company”
The Company took up permanent residence in Chicago. Wheater (Artistic Director) and Cameron’s (Creative Director) tenure together has been marked by critical and box office success, raising the organization’s status among peer institutions across the globe.
2019
“Present Day”
The Joffrey presented the world premiere of a new story ballet based on the novel Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy. Today, The Joffrey Ballet ranks among the top dance companies in the world.

The Academy
Founded in 2010, the Joffrey Academy of Dance provides students of all ages, levels, and backgrounds classes built on a foundation of classical ballet.
